Soldat und Angehöriger des 4 Magdeburger, Inf.Reg. Nr. 67

Adolf Genth wurde dann 1905 ( mit 11 Jahren !!!) in das Kadettenkorps Oranienstein gebracht um Soldat zu werden. Am 10.08.1914 wurde er zum Leutnant im 4.Magdeburger Inf.Reg.Nr 67 ernannt und kam wenig später an die Front, wo er dreimal verwundet wurde.(Einer seiner Brüder fiel 1914 bei Verdun).

Adolf Genth became a soldier in 1905 (with an age of only 11 years !!), he joined the Kadettenkorps Oranienstein.At the 10th of August 1914 he became a Leutnant of the 4 Magdeburger Inf.Reg.Nr 67 and saw frontline services pretty soon. He was wounded three times ( one of his brothers was KIA in 1914 in the vicinity of Verdun/France).

Dies scheint einer seiner Genesungsurlaube zu sein, der Stock diente vermutlich zur Unterstützung des nicht mehr voll belastbarem linken Fusses ...... (Adolf Genth in der Mitte), irgendwann ging es dann aber wohl doch nicht mehr - die Versetzung zur Fliegertruppe war die Lösung!

This looks like one of his recreation times behind the front lines, the stick was most probably used to help his dammaged left foot..... (Adolf Genth in the center). At some point, it was too much for him to continue serving with the infantry - the new Fliegertruppe (Airforce) was the best solution for him.
